Copying Lesson Plans
There are several ways to copy lesson plans depending on the type of planner you're using. Here’s a simplified guide for each scenario:
Individual Planner
Daily Entry to Daily Entry: Use the Send Lesson To button to copy lessons within the same course.
Day-to-Day or Week-to-Week: Use the Copy Wizard in the Week View to copy lessons from one day or week to another.
Shared Planner
Copy from Shared to Individual: Use the Send Lesson To button to copy a lesson from a shared planner to your individual planner (same course).
Copy Entire Week from Shared to Individual: Use the Copy Week function in the Week View for matching courses.
Day or Week from Shared to Individual: Use the Copy Wizard in Week View to copy specific days or weeks.
Team Planner
Copy from Team to Individual: Use the Send Lesson To button to copy a lesson from the team planner to your individual planner (same course).
Copy Entire Week from Team to Individual: Use the Copy Week function in Week View for matching courses.
Copy Day or Week from Team to Individual: Use the Copy Wizard in Week View for matching courses.
Copy Days or Weeks from Year to Year: Use the Copy Wizard in Week View to copy content from one year to another.
What You Cannot Do
Copy lessons from an individual planner to a shared or team planner.
Copy from within the same year in a team planner.
Never edit a shared planner—only your individual or team planner can be edited.
Copying Lesson Plans: Key Functions
The Forethought Lesson Planner allows you to copy individual lessons, a full day, or an entire week of lesson plans.
You must be in Week View to access the Copy Wizard.
Copy Wizard Options
Copy content within your individual planner.
Copy instructional days from year to year.
Shift lesson plans by one day (e.g., for snow days or unexpected events).
Copying Content
Choose what to copy: You can copy content for a single day or a whole week.
Select Source and Target: Choose the day or week to copy and the destination day or week.
Confirm and Finish: After confirming your selections, click Finish.
Important Notes:
If no lesson structure exists for the target date, the first lesson in your list will be used.
Lessons will be copied in the order they appear in the source planner. If there are multiple lessons for the same course, only the first one will be copied to the target date.
Existing lessons in the target week will be appended (added to) by the copied content.
There is no undo for copying lessons.
It is highly recommended that you do not copy the entire semester or year at once due to the lack of an undo function. Instead, copy 10–15 instructional days at a time.
Using Send Lesson To
This feature lets you copy a lesson to another entry:
Save Your Lesson Plans before copying.
Click the Send Lesson To button in the blue-gray box of the entry.
Choose the target date and select the matching course.
Click OK to append the lesson to the target entry's plans.
