Follow these steps to check the ChromeOS Version of a Chromebook

Most Chromebooks in the District are set to the Long Term Support ChromeOS Version 114 which is good for all testing purposes.

Chromebooks need to be at ChromeOS Version 114 to make sure that they are good for testing.

If you have a Chromebook with a ChromeOS lower than 114 please follow these steps to Update the Chromebook

If your campus recently received Chromebooks they may have updated to ChromeOS 119 or ChromeOS 120 during processing but this is not the Long Term Support ChromeOS Version for Chromebooks and your other Chromebooks on campus should not be updated to ChromeOS 119 or 120.

ChromeOS 119 and 120 have a known bug that does not allow students that need Spanish Speech to Text to use them for testing purposes.

If you have a student that needs Spanish Speech to Text during testing please make sure that they have a Chromebook with ChromeOS version 114.

The majority of our Chromebooks are ChromeOS version 114 but please make sure that you verify this if you have a student using a device for testing that needs Spanish Speech to Text.

Verifying Which ChromeOS a Chromebook has is very easy to do

Make sure that you are on the Main Login Screen for the Chromebook.
