VPN / Private Relay

Private VPN / iCloud Private Relay use has been detected for your connection.

What is iCloud Private Relay or a Private VPN?

iCloud Private Relay (used on Apple devices) and private VPN (Virtual Private Network) services are tools that hide a device’s real IP address and internet traffic. Instead of connecting directly, they send data through other servers to protect privacy and prevent tracking.

Why might someone be using them?

People often enable these services to improve privacy on public networks, protect personal data, or prevent websites from seeing their location. iCloud Private Relay, for example, is turned on automatically with some iCloud subscriptions.

Why does this matter for Conroe ISD?

Because these tools hide the real location and network identity of the device, they can interfere with access to district systems that rely on knowing where a connection is coming from. This can lead to login issues, blocked content, or trouble accessing resources like Home Access Center, Canvas, or other educational apps that you or your student might need to use.

What do I need to do?

In order to access protected Conroe ISD Resources such as Home Access Center, you will need to temporarily disable iCloud Private Relay or your VPN service.

How do I disable iCloud Private Relay?

You can access the directions to turn iCloud Private Relay off by going here.

I don’t want to disable iCloud Private Relay. What are my options?

You can install a third-party browser such as Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. These browsers do not support iCloud Private Relay at this time and have been known to still work with Conroe ISD systems while Private Relay is still enabled.

I’ve turned off my VPN / Private Relay but still being sent to this page. What do I do?
